The Villars Institute will be co-hosting events with our partners in Davos from 19-23 January 2026 during the World Economic Forum. Our engagement will focus on pressing global issues such as how to value nature economically and scientifically, how to integrate AI into education, and how to create narratives that foster intergenerational collaboration. We will be joined by a cohort of Villars Fellows to integrate the next generation into these global conversations.

We are partnering with HundrED.org to explore how the workforce of the future must be prepared not only for employment, but for a world defined by complexity and constant disruption. School-to-work pathways remain essential, but they must be part of a broader evolution–one that equips young with deeper human capabilities such as critical thinking, collaboration across differences, ethical leadership, and adaptability–to enable businesses and societies to thrive in an AI-enabled world. Transforming education to build these capabilities demands cross-sector ambition and coordinated action.

We are partnering with Frontiers and Open Planet to preview an upcoming feature documentary, that brings scientific discovery to life through compelling narratives and striking cinematography and turning transformative science into powerful stories that inspire action. It captures both nature’s destruction and its capacity for recovery to shape a hopeful vision for the future. By championing open science and collaboration across disciplines and sectors, the Science House aims to ensure scientific knowledge resonates beyond Davos and informs the decisions that define our shared future.

A cohort of 10 Villars Fellows will join this session to explore how a generation of young people has done everything right — studying, training, and working hard — only to find the rules of entry into work have changed and traditional pathways are breaking down. Slowing economic growth, post-pandemic resets, the experience paradox, and AI’s rapid transformation of work are converging to create a generational emergency, leaving many young people — especially those already facing barriers — struggling to access opportunity, purpose, and stable careers. This session kicks off an inter-generational, cross-sector initiative, IncuVersity – from AI labs to manufacturing, finance, mobility, healthcare and beyond – uniting partners whose businesses are all evolving with AI and who share a belief that entrepreneurship is the most direct route to inclusive growth.
