Villars Mentorship Program

A Program for Intergenerational Learning

The Villars Mentorship Program is designed to empower a new generation of Systems Leaders to thrive within planetary boundaries by fostering meaningful intergenerational collaboration and learning exchanges between experts of the Villars Institute Community and Villars Fellows.

The program provides Villars Fellows with expert guidance while allowing mentors to contribute to the development of future leaders in environmental and social change.

Mentorship Model

Our mentorship program is intentionally designed as a mentorship program of "one to many". This approach ensures that mentors can maximize their impact by guiding multiple mentees efficiently without overwhelming their schedules. Additionally, the "one to many" model fosters a collaborative learning environment, allowing mentees to benefit not only from the mentor’s insights but also from each other's diverse perspectives and experiences.

Discover the Mentorship Tracks

Our aim is to prepare Villars Fellows to confront the consequences of today’s most complex environmental and social issues and develop effective solutions. The Villars Mentorship program provides tools and knowledge to mentees in the form of sessions across two tracks: Leadership and Knowledge.

Leadership

The Leadership track offers tools, inspiration, and frameworks for understanding leadership and defining the qualities of an effective leader through a systems approach. In today’s world, we need leaders who address not only economic demands but also social and environmental challenges, prioritizing planetary health and human wellbeing. Experts will share insights from their own leadership journeys.

Knowledge

This track provides specialized insights from systems leaders in areas such as environmental change, ecopreneurship, and social innovation. Through expert guidance, mentees gain a deeper understanding of pressing global issues and are equipped with the tools needed to create meaningful solutions. Mentors share the latest advancements in their fields, sparking curiosity and helping mentees cultivate their interests and talents.

Mentee Eligibility

Joining the mentorship program is competitive and designed to support Villars Fellows who have meaningfully contributed to various programs and activities organized by the Institute. To become a mentee, Villars Fellows must have completed the first course of the Systems Leadership Program, Applying Systems Thinking, as well as to have completed the Global Issues Survey.
