The Villars Institute, in collaboration with Global Himalayan Expedition (GHE), measures the impact of the expedition through a range of environmental and community indicators. These include the overall carbon emissions of the trip, the number of community members served, clean energy infrastructure installed, emissions reductions generated through the impact work, the long-term sustainability of installed systems, and broader livelihood improvement indicators within local communities.

Following the expedition, GHE continues post-program monitoring and follow-up to help track the long-term outcomes and effectiveness of the initiatives implemented.

Participants who are unable to attend may request to transfer their place to another eligible participant, subject to prior written approval by the organizers. Any transfer requests must be submitted no later than 30 days before the start of the program.

The organizers reserve the right to cancel or reschedule the expedition due to unforeseen circumstances or force majeure events. In such cases, participants may be offered a transfer to a future cohort at the organizers’ discretion or a refund.

All participation fees are strictly non-refundable once payment has been made.

Due to the nature of the expedition, advance commitments for accommodation, logistics, transport, renewable energy infrastructure, and program delivery are secured well in advance and cannot be recovered in the event of cancellation.
